Where to get advice (in the meantime!)

Unfortunatley you will be unable to receive the full range of information and advice previously provided by Skill Scotland.  We hope that a new support organisation may be up and running soon, but in the meantime, if you are a disabled person seeking information or advice, you may be able to find what you want from the following sources:

   - The Scottish Government website has several useful information booklets for disabled learners, covering support

arrangements & funding issues, such as 'Helping You Meet the Costs of Learning -  Funding for Disabled Students'

  -  Your college / university Disability Office or Student Support Service

  - Your college/university Students Association

  - National Union of Students (NUS) Scotland

  - Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) can give advice on welfare benefits and other matters

  - Local libraries have information on sources of funding, such as charitable trusts

  - For some issues you may be able to get help by contacting your local councillor, your MSP, or your MP

  - You may also be able to get help and advice from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). Scottish Helpline: 0845
